Patna : World No 49 Joao Sousa, 30, Portugal, and World No 79 Pablo Andujar, 33, Spain, entered the semi-finals of Swiss Open, an ATP 250 points event, at Gstaad, Switzerland, on July 26, 2019.

Sousa stunned top seed and World No 13 Roberto Bautista Agut, 31, Spain, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 in 2 hr 3 minutes in the quarter-finals. Sousa won 5 break points to 3 by Agut. Both the players won 3 games each in a row in the match. Agut fired 6 Aces in the match to 5 by Sousa.

Andujar beat World No 26 Dusan Lajovic, 29, Serbia, 7-6, 6-4 in 2 hr 6 minutes in the quarter-finals. Andujar won 2 break points to 1 by Lajovic. Both the players won 3 games each in a row. Lajovic though won 61 service points to 52 by Andujar.

World No 85 Albert Ramos-Vinolas, 31, Spain, defeated World No 74 Roberto Carballes Baena, 26, Spain, 6-2, 6-1 to enter the semi-finals. Vinolas won 4 break in the match besides winning 7 games in a row. He also served 4 Aces to 1 by Baena.
