Patna : World No 38 and 2nd seed Sourabh Verma, 26, India, beat World No 68 Sun Fei Xiang, China, in the final to win the Yonex-Sunrise Vietnam Open, an Badminton World Federation (BWF) Tour Super 100 event, title at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on September 15, 2019. The win will improve Sourabh’s BWF world rankings.

Sorabh beat Xiang in a three-game thriller 21-12, 17-21, 21-14 in the final in 72 minutes at Nguyen Du Cultural Sports Club, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on September 15 to lift the men’s singles title and bag 5,500 points. Xiang secured 4,680 points for finishing runner-up. Sourabh won 59 rallies in the match to 47 by Xiang. The Indian won 6 consecutive points in the match to 8 by the Chinese. Sourabh now leads Xiang 3-0 Head to Head.

Sourabh had also won Hyderabad Open title, also a BWF Tour Super 100 event, in August 2019.
