Sloane Stephens wins US Open Women’s title

Patna : Unseeded Sloane Stephens, US,  ranked 83rd in the world, won the US Open Women’s title on September 9, 2017, defeating 15th seed Madison Keys, US, 6-3, 6-0 in the final at Flushing Meadows. This is her first Grand Slam title. Stephens 24,  was ranked 957th six weeks back. She became the fifth unseeded women in open era to win a Grand Slam title. Both Stephens and Keys, 22,  were playing their first GRand Slam final. Stephens and Keys are very close friends.
