Patna : Sri Lanka (SL) were 207/7 in 67 overs in their first innings in the 2nd test against Pakistan in the second session of the play on Day 2 at National Stadium, Karachi, Pakistan, on December 20, 2019, with Dinesh Chandimal unbeaten on 56 with 7 fours while Dilruwan Perera is batting on 12. SL lead by 16 runs.
Pakistan’s fast medium bowler Mohammad Abbas has taken 4/46 while fast bowler Shahjeen Afridi has taken 3/59. Opting to bat after winning the toss, Pakistan were all out for 191 in 59.3 overs on Day 1.
Resuming at their overnight score of 64/3 3, SL lost three wicket in the first session of play on Day 2 adding 106 runs. Spinner Lasith Embuldeniya fell to fast medium bowler Mohammad Abbas for 13 making it 78/4. Angelo Mathews fell to fast bowler Shaheen Afridi for 14 making it 80/5. Dhananjaya de Silva and Dinesh Chandimal then added 67 runs for the 6th wicket. De Silva, who had scored century in the drawn first test, fell to Afridi for 32 and it was 147/6. Al these three wickets feel in the first session. In the last 3 overs before lunch, SL scored just 1 run.
Niroshan Dickwella (wk) fell Mohammad Abbas for 21 in 35 balls with 3 fours in the second session of p-lay and it was 184/7. Dickwella and Chandimal added 37 runs for the 7th wicket.
