Ara: Six inmates of Ara Remand Home in Dharahara locality under Town police station were injured one of them seriously in a group clash at about 7.30 pm Monday. The injured inmates were admitted to Ara Sadar Hospital. The doctor at the hospital referred the seriously injured inmate to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH). No FIR has was with Town police station in this regard till the filling of this report as the Remand Home Superintendent has not sent any report.

SHO, Town police station , S K Sahi said that  Akhilesh Yadav, elder brother of an inmate of Remand Home, Manji Yadav had come to the meet his brother. Manzi Yadav talked to his family members on the mobile of his brother. When the Havildar on duty Manjeet Rai prevented him from using mobile, Manji Yadav clashed with him and beat him up. Hearing Manji Yadav shouting, other inmates came there and they also asked him not to use mobile. In a fraction of second, the inmates got divided into two groups and clashed in which Manji Yadav of Rohtas, Dheeraj Pandey, Deepak Kumar, Abhishek and Raj Kumar Mishra and others were injured. The inmates also beat up another Havildar on duty Devendra Kumar and injured him when he asked them to calm down.

Later, the Remand Home authorities informed the Town police station and police admitted the injured persons to Ara Sadar Hospital. The doctor there referred Manji Yadav to Patna Medical College and Hospital in view of his serious  condition. Manji Yadav , at Ara Sadar Hospital, said that some inmates of Remand Home assaulted him. But Havildar Devendra Kumar said that the inmates clashed over the use of mobile.

It may be mentioned here that Manji Yadav allegedly had a close link with dreaded criminals Sheru Singh and Chandan languishing in Buxar jail. Ara SDO Navdeep Shukla had conducted raid at Ara Remand Home three days ago and had seized four mobiles.

Juvenile criminals of Bhojpur, Buxar, Rohtas and Kaimur districts are lodged at Ara Remand Home. The inmates are living here in hellish condition but no one cares for them.  Sources said that only juvenile criminals below 18 years of age are to supposed to be lodged at the Remand Home but some criminals in the Remand Home are over 18 year.
