Sitamarhi : Sitamarhi SP Vikas Burman has placed under suspension a Sub-Inspector (SI) of Bairgania police station Vijay Kumar Singh for dereliction of duty in kidnapping and subsequent murder of a Class VIII girl recently. The girl was a student of a government school at Bairgania.
The girl was kidnapped on December 8, 2018, night, when she was returning after attending a marriage function. Her body was found on December 11, 2018, in a ditch near Baba Lal Das temple at Bairgania. Her family members alleged she was gangraped and murdered by four local youth and lodged a complaint with police in this connection seeking justice. But, the local police remained unmoved.
The gang rape and murder of the girl has created sensation in the area and Bairgania residents are on protest since December 11, 2018, demanding arrest of the four accused. The deceased’s father runs a tea-stall at Bairgania market.
