Dhanbad ( Jharkhand) :  As no arrest has yet been made in  the gruesome  murder of Congress leader and former Deputy Mayor, Dhanbad, Neeraj Singh, almost all opposition parties  including  Congress, JMM, JVM, Marxist Coordination Centre (MCC), JD(U), RJD, CPM have given call for ‘Dhanbad Bandh’  on March 23, 2017, in protest against the gruesome murder of congress leader who was shot dead along with three others on March 21 evening. Talking to this reporter former Dhanbad MLA Mannan Mallick gave information about Bandh call .

Twentysix bullets were found in Neeraj’s body during the post- mortem conducted on March 21 midnight. Meanwhile, Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das has constituted special investigation team (SIT) led by Jharkhand ADG  CID Ajay Kumar to hold an inquiry into the murder case. Ajay Kumar reached Dhanbad late March 21 night. Forensic experts started the investigation from March 22  as bullet riddled SUV  inside which all the four persons were shot dead was brought to Dhanbad police station.

Most of shops and business establishments of Dhanbad city at Bank Mor, Hirapur, Bartand, Saraidhela remained closed as mark of respect for former deputy mayor Neeraj Singh, who was shot dead near Saridhela (Dhanbad) just 200 metres away from his house. More than 7 thousand people participated in a procession which started from Raghukul (house of Neeraj at Saraidhela)  with the body of the deceased  at about 11 am and  after crossing Randhir Verma chowk,  Bank Mor and other places  reached Mohalbani-Damodar crematory ground at Jharia around 2 pm raising slogans in favour of the deceased.
