Patna : The 2016 Olympic silver medal winner P V Sindhu, 23, India, has slipped two places to be ranked World No 6 in Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings released on November 22, 2018. This follows her ordinary run at major tournaments in recent months. Sindhu has played 17 tournaments this year. Saina Nehwal, 28, India, winner of 23 internation titles, remains static at World No 9. Saina has played 14 tournaments.
Tai Tzu ing, 24, Taiwan, and Akanae Yamaguchi, 21, Japan, remain World No 1 and World No 2 respectively. Chen Yufei, 20, China, is World No 3 while reigning Olympic and world champion Carolina Marin, 25, Spain, has jumped one place to be ranked World No 4. Nozomi Okuhara, 23, Japan, the 2017 World Champion, has jumped one place to be ranked World No 5.
