Patna : World No 9 in Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings Saina Nehwal, 28, India, 2012 Olympic champion and World No 41 Li Xuerui, 27, China, and World No 53 Dinar Dyah Ayustine, Indonesia, entered the quarter-finals of Syed Modi International Badminton Championship 2018, an HSBC BWF World Super 300 tournament, on November 22, 2018, at Lucknow, India.

Saina Nehwal, the second seed, beat World No 285 Amolika Singh Sisodiya, India, 21-14, 21-9 in just 25 minutes in the second round on November 22 at Lucknow. Saina won 42 rallies in the match compared to 23 by Sisodiya. She also won 13 consecutive points to 4 by Sisodiya.

Li Xuerui, the 7th seed, beat World No 206 Pardeshi Shreyanshi, India, 21-19, 21-16 in 31 minutes in the second round. Xuerui won 42 rallies in the match to 35 by Shreyanshi. Both the players won 4 consecutive points each.

World No 88 Sai Uttejitha Rao Chukka, India, also entered the quarter-finals beating compatriot and World No 232 Reshma Karthik 21-12, 21-15 in only 23 minutes. Chukka won 42 rallies in the match to 27 by Karthik. Chukka won 8 consecutive in the match to 3 by Karthik.

World No 53 Dinar Dyah Ayustine, Indonesia, the 6th seed, beat World No 109 Saili Rane, India, 21-14, 21-6 in the second round in 31 minutes.

World No 56 Rituparna Das, the 8th seed, beat World No 192 Shruti Mundada, India, 21-11, 21-15 in 28 minutes. Rituparna won 42 rallies in the match to 26 by Mundada. Both the players won 4 consecutive points each.
