Patna : World No 3 in Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings P V Sindhu, 23, India, entered the semi-finals (SF) of BWF World Championship at Nanjing, China, on August 3, 2018, evening. But, in the men’s sction, World No 8 Chen Long, China, stunned World No 1 Viktor Axelsen, Denmark, in the quarters-finals (QF).
Sindhu beat World No 6 Nozomi Okuhara, Japan, 21-17, 21-19 in 58 minute in the quarters-finals to book a place in the semi-finals.
Two time world champion Chen Long beat Axelsen 21-19, 21-11 in 59 minutes in the QF. World No 26 B Sai Praneeth, India, lost to World No 7 Kento Momota, Japan, 12-21, 12-21, in the QF.
