Simona Halep beat 15th seed & 2020 French Open champion Iga Swiatek, 19, Poland, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 in 4th round at Melbourne Park, Australia, on February 14, 2021, rallying back from one set down. Simona, the winner of two Grand Slam singles titles, won 4 break points during the match to 2 by Swiatek. The Romanian also won 5 games in a row during the match to 3 by Swiatek. Simona, in all, won 85 points during the match to 74 by Swiatek. Simona served 3 Aces in the match to 2 by the Pole.
Naomi Osaka, the 2019 Australian Open champion, beat 14th seed Garbine Muguruza, 27, Spain, in a tough three-set contest 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 in 4th round coming back from one set down Osaka fired 11 Aces in the match to 8 by Muguruza. Hsieh will face Osaka while Simona will clash with Serena in QFs on February 16, 2021.
