Sasaram : Sub-Inspector, Nokha police station in Rohtas district, Pramod Kumar Singh, was arrested on March 20, 2020, for his alleged links with liquor syndicate. A rice mill at Nokha is also under scanner.
Rohtas SP Satyaveer Singh said that someone had complained to senior officials of Home (Police) Department against the SI Pramod Kumar Singh alleging he had links with liquor smugglers. Senior officials of the DGP cell got the matter inquired into confidentially and found several evidence against SI Singh. Meanwhile, a big consignment of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) was seized at village Penar under Nokha police station in on March 19, 2020, evening.
After seizure of IMFL, the officials of IB and senior police officials investigated the matter and the name of SI Pramod Kumar Singh figured in smuggling of IMFL and also helping liquor smugglers. The SP further said that he went to the residence of the SI at Mahajan Mill, Station Road, and arrested the SI after lodging a named FIR against him with Nokha police station on March 20, 2020.
