Shruti beat World No 45 Lianne Tan, 29, Belgium, in straight games 21-18, 21-14 in 34 minutes in second round at Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium, Lucknow. She won 42 rallies in the match to 32 by Tan. Shruti won 7 consecutive points in the match to 4 by Tan. The two players are now locked 1-1 Head to Head.
Rituparna beat World No 139 Tanvi Lad, 26, India, in straight games 21-16, 21-13 in 28 minutes in 2nd round. Rituparna won 42 rallies in the match to 29 by Lad. She won 5 consecutive points to 3 by Lad. Rituparna now leads Lad 2-0 Head to Head.
Rituparna Das will face Shruti Mundada in QFs on November 29, 2019, while 4th seed Carolina Marin, 26, Spain, will face World No 29 Evgeniya Kosetskaya, 24, Russia, in QFs.
