Ara : Over a dozen police personnel including Station House Officer (SHO), Sahar police station in Bhojpur district, were injured the villages attacked a police team went to village Perhap under Sahar police station on May 16, 2018, evening to arrest two absconding liquor smugglers there. Police arrested three persons and lodged a named FIR against at least 25 persons in this connection.
SHO, Sahar police station, said Sanjay Kumar that police had gone to Perhap village on May 16 evening to arrest two absconding liquor smugglers. Seeing police, they tried to escape but police chased and arrested them and also seized 55 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL). The villagers, in their bid to free them, pelted cops with stones in which over a dozen cops including the SHO were injured. The liquor smugglers managed to escape.
The SHO said that police arrested three persons: Bheem Singh, Arjun Singh, sons of Bhagwan Singh, and Pintu Kumar, son Bheem Singh, for attacking police personnel.
