Bagaha : Gandak, Tengaraha, Jhikeri, Kosil, Bhaluhi, Masan, Singahi, Ramrekha, Pandai, Maniyari, Harbora, Oria and other rivers in West Champaran district in North Bihar are in spate following torrential rain in catchment of hilly rivers and plane area during last 36 hour. Guide Bund of  Singaha Zamindari embankment in Sapahi panchayat under  Ramnagar block  breached following heavy rain inundating Kataharawa, Churiharawa, Phagunhatta villages destroying paddy  crops. The flood  posing threat to Done canal.

Block Development Officer (BDO), Ramnagar, Jitendra Singh, and Circle Officer (CO) Vinod Mishra on July 24, 2019, visited several areas to take stock of flood  situation. River Masan has inundated Hariharpur, Pathari, Mahadalit tola. On July 24, Mukhiya, Gudguddi Panchayat, Mohammed Nashid Ahmad, said that a Protection Bund  was earlier made but it could not withstand the current of river Masan.

Meanwhile, SDM, Bagaha, Vijay  Prakash Meena, claimed that the  situation was not alarming. Gandak Barrage, Valmikinagar,  had released  1,09,400.cusecs water on July 24 afternoon, according to official sources.
