Siwan: With the arrest of seven criminals from village Aalapur under Barhariya police station Siwan district late on January 8 night, Siwan police claimed to have solved the cash loot from an employee of a private bank.
It may be mentioned here that three motorcycle-borne criminals had shot at Chandan Kumar, an employee of Bandhan Bank, on his leg and looted Rs 1 lakh cash and cash machine from him at village Hathigai under Barhariya police station in Siwan district on January 4, 2017. Police said that soon after the incident, Siwan SP Saurabh Kumar Sah constituted a team led by ASP Kartikeya Sharma and comprising SHOs of Barhariya, Mufassil, Hussainganj, Pachrukhi and MH Nagar to crack the case.
Acting on the inputs received through intelligence and other sources, police team first identified the criminals involved in the incident. On January 8 night, a police team raided the house of Meera Manjhi, a native of village Aalapur under Barhariya police station, and arrested seven criminals from there, who were planning to commit some crime. Police team also seized huge cache of arms and ammunition esides stimulants from there. A bike used in the crime and looted cash were also recovered by the police team.
The arrested criminals were identified as Reyazuddin Mian, a native of village Chanp under Sarai police outpost in Siwan, Mohd. Ashraf alias Sonu, a native of village Parrauna under Barhariya police station in Siwan, Ajay Kumar Yadav, a native of village Kabilpura under MH Nagar police station in Siwan, Nirbhai Kumar, a native of Kabilpura under MH Nagar police station in Siwan, Ajay Yadav, a native of village Rasoolpur under Hussainganj police station in Siwan, Pradip Tatwan, a native of village Mian Chanri under Raghunathpur police station, and Meera Manjhi, a native of village Aalapur under Barhariya police station in Siwan.
During interrogation, the arrested persons told police that besides cash loot in Barhariya, they were also involved in loot of cash, bike and cellphone of another Bandhan Bank employee of Pachrukhi Vikash Kumar on December 14, 2016, at pistol point. They also told police that they had also looted bike, helmet besides Rs 2,400 cash from a person at village Sahuli under Hussainganj police station on December 31, 2016. Acting on the revelations made by the arrested criminals, a police team later recovered looted bike, cash machine and looted cash in Barhariya incident and bike, cash machine and cellphone of Pachrukhi loot incident. Police said that Pradip Tatwan was arrested from Raghunathpur on charge of purchasing looted bike.
Police seized two regular pistols, three countrymade pistols, six pistol cartridges, 11 cartridges of countrymade pistols, Rs 10,000 cash of Barhariya cash loot, two looted bike of Barhariya and Pachrukhi police stations, two looted cash machines, 16 cellphones including one looted in Pachrukhi and over one kg charas.
Police said that Reyazuddin is wanted in connection with criminal cases lodged with Pachrukhi, Nagar Sarai and Barhariya police stations of the district. Besides these aforesaid cases, he is also accused in over 22 cases and information about these cases are being collected, police said adding that Nirbhay Kumar is also accused in criminals cases lodged with Hussainganj and Barhariya police stations in Siwan.
