Gopalganj: A Gopalganj district administration team on Sunday carried out raid inside the divisional jail at Chanabe and recovered ganja, cellphones, razor and scissor from there. The raid was carried out following information that the jailed gangsters were co-ordinating crime from there. The team led by SDO Mritunjay Kumar and SDPO Manoj Kumar was constituted on the direction of Gopalganj DM Rahul Kumar and SP Rajiv Ranjan.
Police said that the raid started at 3 am and continued for over three hours. During raid, the team members seized seven cellphones, three cellphone batteries, four chargers, two earphones, four big scissors, four shaving razors, 40 packets of ganja each weighing 100 gm. Gopalganj DM said that it would be probed how these objectionable items sneaked inside the jail. Stern action would be taken against the erring staffs, he said. Gopalganj SP said that after surveillance, the district administration came to know that criminal gangs criminal gangs were getting instructions from jailed gangsters on cellphones.
