Patna: Bihar government on Monday promoted seven senior IAS officers – four of 1984 batch and three of 1985 batch – to the rank of Chief Secretary in the highest payscale (fixed) of Rs 80,000. The 1984 batch IAS officers promoted to the rank of Chief Secretary are : Dipak Kumar, Ravi Kant, Subhash Sharma and Ajay Kumar. The 1985 batch IAS officers promoted to this rank are: A Santosh Mathew, J R K Rao and  Ravindra Panwar. All the seven IAS officers, who are on cental deputation, have been given pro forma promotion with effect from September 1, 2016. Th General Administration department (GAD) issued a notification to this effect on Monday.
