Patna : Six time champion Derena Williams, 36, USA, beat World No 8 in WTA rankings Karolina Pliskova, 26, Czech Republic, 6-4, 6-3 in the quarter-finals to enter the semi-finals of US Open championship at Arthur Ashe Stadium, Flushing Meadows, Newyork, on September 5, 2018. Serena had won her last US Open singles title in 2014.
