Darbhanga : Security was tightened at Darbhanga Airport on June 25, 2021, in the wake of parcel blast at Darbhanga Railway Platform N0. 1 near parcel office on June 17, 2021. The blast is suspected to be result of a terror plot. Local police , Government Rilway Police (GRP), FSL and ATS were investigating this case but now National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken over the probe into the blast. An NIA team reached Darbhanga on June 25, 2021. During the investigation of case earlier, new revelations were being made almost daily and the wire of this blast are now connecting with ISI and Pakistan.
Biplaw Mandal , Director, Darbhanga Airport, told this reporter on June 26, 2021, that an alert has been sounded and all the employees have been instructed to remain vigilant. They have been asked that if they see any suspicious object or person on the premises of the airport, they examine the same seriously and inform the higher authorities immediately.
Mandal further said that after getting direction from Airport Authority of India (AAI), the security at the airport has been beefed up. All the vehicles coming to airport are being searched at the entry point to ensure the safety of passengers.
