Buxar : Some unidentified miscreants shot dead an RJD leader Deepak Yadav, 20, near Niyajipur Bridge under Tilak Rai police outpost in Buxar District in South Bihar on June 25, 2021, late night, when he was returning home in his Scorpio after attending the last rites of a person.
Irate villagers blocked the Dumraon-Bikramganj main road near Dumraon Block for about an hour with the body raising slogans against the district administration. They were demanding immediate arrest of the miscreant. The blockade was lifted after positive assurance from SDPO, Dumraon, Buxar, K K Singh. Later, police brought the body over to Buxar Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. An FIR has been lodged with Tilak Rai police outpost in this connection. Police are investigating the matter. The reason behind the incident is still to be ascertained.
Dumraon DSP K K Singh said that RJD leader Deepak Yadav was a resident of village Singhanpura under Simrai block in Buxar district who lived at Chanakyapuri Colony at Dumraon. Deepak Yadav had gone to attend last rites of father of Shankar Singh, Mukhia, of Sadhaar under Simari block on his Scorpio on June 25, 2021. He was returning from Bayasi Ghat on his Scorpio in the late night and when he reached near Niyajipur Bridge, some armed miscreants fired indiscriminately on the Scorpio and a bullet hit him on his head leaving him bleeding profusely. He was rushed to Buxar Sadar Hospital but the doctor referred him to Varanasi, UP, in view of his critical condition but he succumbed to his injuries on way to Varanasi.
