SDO orders for FIRs against 2 candiadtes of Nagar Parsishad polls

Saharsa : Saharsa SDO Saurabh Jorwal on May 10, 2017, ordered for lodging FIRs against two candidates of Saharsa Nagar Parishad polls including candidate from Ward number 22 and former Deputy Chairperson Ranjana Singh for violating Model Code of Conduct.

SDO Jorwal said he had received complaints alleging that Ranjana Singh’s husband Sanjay Singh was trying to influence the voters which were found prima facie true during an inquiry. The matter was then referred to Model Code of Conduct cell for further probe into the matter. On the basis of findings of the cell, he had ordered for lodging an FIR against Ranjana Singh, the SDO said.

The SDO had also received complaints alleging that Chandan singh, son of one of the candidates from Ward number 9 Prabha Devi, was trying to influence the voters and had constructed a toilet after encroaching a government plot and had put his name and that of his party there. The Model Code of Conduct Cell was asked to inquire into the allegations and on the basis of its report, he had ordered for lodging an FIR against Prabha Devi as well, SDO Jorwal said.
