Schools at Chhapra to remain closed on Aug 8

Patna: All schools at Chhapra  will remain closed on Monday due to tension in Saran district. Saran District magistrate  issued a directive for closure of all schools on Monday.
Different parts of the district including Mashrakh, Sonepur, Sheetalpur, Garkha, Maker and Panapur are still tense following last week’s incident in which tension mounted following spread of some obscene MMS on social media against deities of a particular religion.  Incidents of arson took place on  Saturday. A former minister and senior JD(U) leader from Chhapra Mithilesh Kumar Singh said he had to return from the highway n Saturday following tension in the town when supporters of a youth brigade of a political party organised a motorcycle procession carrying swords.
Meanwhile, DM and SP of neighbouring Siwan district too held a meeting with BDOs, circle officers and inspectors of different police stations and asked them to remain alert following Saran incidents.
