Patna : The Supreme Court (SC) on May 29, 2017, gave time till July 31, 2017,  to liquor firms and sellers in Bihar to dispose of their existing stock worth about Rs 200 crore outside the state. Nitish Kumar government had enforced complete prohibition in Bihar on April 5, 2016.

The  Confederation of Indian Alcoholic Beverage Companies had pleaded that the liquor firms and  dealers were facing huge economic loss in view of the complete prohibition enforced in Bihar hence  be allowed to dispose of the stock in other states where liquor is not banned, sources said.
