Sasaram : Additional District and Sessions Judge VII, Sasaram, Gopal Ji, on May 31, 2019, convicted Vikas Tiwari and his wife Reena Devi of village Belhan under Dinara police station in Rohtas district for killing a mother-daughter duo about five years ago. The quantum of punishment would be announced on June 1, 2019.
Savitri Kuer was married to Virendra Tiwari of village Belham under Dinara police station about 30 years ago and had a 15 year old daughter Neha Kumari. After the death of Virendra Tiwari, his brother Vikas Tiwari and his wife Reena Devi tortured Savitri Kuer and her daughter Neha frequently. They also pressurised them to sale their land and give the money to them and when Savitri refused, Vikas Tiwari and his wife Reena Devi slit throat of Savitri Kuer and Neha when they were sleeping and killed them. A named FIR was lodged by Dinara police station against Vikas Tiwari and his wife Reena Devi on the statement of their nephew Santosh Tiwari.
After hearing both the parties, the ADJ VII held Vikas Tiwari and his wife Reena Tiwari responsible for the murder of Savitri Kuer and her daughter Neha and convicted them. The court said that the quantum of punishment would be announced on June 1, 2019.
