Sitamarhi : Four motorbike borne unidentified armed criminals shot dead Md. Anwar, 40, near Bhairo-Kothi Chowk under Dumra block in Sitamarhi district on late January 11 evening when he was returning to his village Bhup-Bhairau after taking tea at a Chowk tea stall. The criminals were riding two bikes. Anwar sustained four bullet shots.

Anwar was husband of Bhup-Bhairau Panchayat Sarpanch Tanzila Khatoon. Villagers said that election rivalry and protracted land dispute with relations might be the cause behind his murder. After post-mortem body was handed over to the family members. No one has been arrested in this connection so far. Sitamarhi SP Hari Prasath S visited the place of occurrence and assured the villagers of early arrest of criminals.
