Sale of LED bulbs among power consumer begins in Munger

Munger: Power consumrs in Munger started getting LED bulbs at a very cheap rate of Rs 85 from Saturday. It is available at Rs 120 to Rs 150 each in the open market. The sale of LED bulbs began soon after the scheme Ujjala of the central government was launched here this evening by Munger ADM IC Sharma. The purchasers will get three years’ warranty, he said and added that more than one thousand bulbs were sold within an hour.

Indu Bhushan, state chief of the Ujjala scheme, who was also present here on the occasion, said that eight lakh LED bulbs have been put on sale for the power consumers in Munger in the first phase and more will be made available later on following demands from the consumers. Indu Bhushan said that this campaign of the energy department of the union government will provide much relief to the consumers in limiting their power consumption  and help the state  release more power to the consumers.
