Patna : Saina Nehwal, India, 27, who has jumped to 10th position in Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings, lost to Chen Yufei, 19, China, the world number 8, in a tough three set encounter 21-18, 19-21, 10-21 in the second round of  Hongkong Open Super Series at Kowloon, Hongkong, on November 23, 2017.

World Championship Silver Medallist P V Sindhu, who has slid to 3rd position in the latest BWF rankings, reached the quarterfinals of the tournament defeating Aya Ohori, 21, Japan, 21-14, 21-17 on November 23. Aya Ohori ranked 13th in BWF rankings.

H S Pranoy, the World Number 10 Men’s Badminton player, also lost his second round match to Kazumasa Sakai, 27, Japan, in three sets 21-11, 10-21, 15-21 in 54 minutes. Sakai is ranked 27th in the BWF rankings.

Meanwhile, Kidambi Srikanth, 24, India, has slipped to 3rd position in the latest BWF rankings released on November 23 from 2nd positio he held earlier.
