Patna : World Number 10 Saina Nehwal, 27, India, entered the Women’s singles final of Daihatsu Indonesia Masters, a Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour Super 500 event, defeating World Number 5 Ratchanok Intanon, 22, Thailand, 21-19, 21-19, in 48 minutes in the semi-finals at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Indonesia, on January 27, 2018.

Saina will turn 28 on March 17, 2018. Unseeded Saina, a former World Number 1, played brilliantly to beat a fighting Ratchanok. Saina has won Indonesia Open thrice in the past. She has reached the final of an international event almost after a year. Saina has won 21 titles in her career. She had defeated World Number 3 P V Sindhu, India, in the quarterfinals on January 26, 2018.
