Saina crashes out of BWF World Championships at Basel

Patna : World No 8 Saina Nehwal, 29, India, tumbled out of BWF World Championships at Basel, Switzerland, losing to World No 12 Mia Blichfeldt, 22, Denmark, in three-games in third round on August 22, 2019, late night.

Blichfeldt upset Saina, the 2015 Silver Medallist and 2017 Bronze Medallist, 15-21, 27-25, 21-12 in 72 minutes in 3rd round coming from behind. Blichfeldt won 68 rallies in the match to 58 by Saina. She won 5 co nsecutive points in the match to 4 by the India. It was first meeting between the two players. World No 5 P V Sindhu, India, reached QFs of the tournament on August 22.
