Saharsa youth arrested in Nancy Jha murder case

Saharsa : Madhubani police, with the help of their Saharsa counterpart, arrested a youth Amit Jha, in connection with the sensational kidnapping and murder of 12 year old Nancy Jha of Mahadev Math under Andhramath Police (PS) in Madhubani district. A police team led by Inspector, Phulparas, in Madhubani district, Subodh Kumar Thakur, reached Saharsa and arrested Amit Jha fron Refugee colony, Saharsa, on June 4, 2017.

Confiming the arrest of Amit Jha in connection with Nancy Jha murder case, SHO, Sadat police station, Saharsa, Bhai Bharat, said that Amit used to visit Mahadevmath in Madhubani to meet his relatives. He said that Madhubani police wold take further action in the matter.

It may be recalled that Nancy was kidnapped on May 25, 2017, and her decomposed body was recovered on May 27. The  then SHO of Andhramath police station Rajiv Kumar was recently suspended for negligence in the investigation into this sensitive case. An SIT headed by Jhanjharpur ASP Nidhi Rani, IPS, is now investigating the case. One of Nancy’s close relative also lives in Refugee colony. He is a school teacher under Mahishi block in Saharsa district.
