Saharsa : Shakuntala Devi, wife of Suman Kumar, of Kailashpuri ward number 34, Saharsa, is missing with her ten year old son and eight year old daughter since March 29, 2017. Her husband Suman Kumar, in an FIR lodged with Sadar police station, Saharsa, on April 2, 2017, said that Shakuntala had left home with her two kids on March 29 to purchase their school uniform and other materials.
When they did not return till late evening, the family members called on her mobile phone number but it was found switched off. Suman and his family members started searching for them during which a neighbour Vikas Kumar told them that he had seen another neighbour Devendra Singh, his son Sumit Singh and daughter Aarti Singh speaking to them near Nagarpalika Chowk at 12 noon on March 29 beside a four-wheeler. Suman said when he and family members went to Devendra Singh’s residence it was found locked.
Suman informed police that Devendra’s daughter Aarti, who was giving tution to his kids, had stopped her work on March 28, 2017, a day before Shakuntala and his two children went missing. SHO, Sadar police station, Bhai Bharat, on April 3 said police were conducting raids to recover Shakuntala and her two kids and arrest the accused. Suman is a government employee.
