Saharsa Town Congress chief Manjit Singh attcked, hospitalised

Saharsa : Saharsa Town Congress president Manish Singh alias Manjit Singh was attacked with a sharpedged weapon and injured on March 3, 2017, night by some persons when he objected to unloading of soil by them on the land of father-in-law of his brother in Naya Bazaar Nariyar locality.

Manjit Singh was admitted to Saharsa Sadar hospital. Police have started investigation into the incident on the basis of statement given by Manjit Singh.  Shivji Singh, Madhusudan Singh, Rampravesh Singh and four unidentified persons have been made accused in the FIR lodged by Manjit Singh, who said that when he started shouting for help his neighbours rushed for his help after which the accused fled away. He alleged the accused also looted his gold chain and Rs 3,700 cash. Manjit Singh also disclosed that earlier a `Rangdari'( extortion amount) of Rs 5 lakh was demanded from him. Former MLA Sanjiv Kumar Jha and Congress leader and Patuaha Mukhia Mukesh Kumar Jha have condemned attack on Manjit. Shivji Singh, on the other hand, said he did not have any fight with Manjit Singh on March 3 night. Shivji Singh lives in Nariyar.
