Saharsa : A matriculation girl examinee of Saharsa town was kidnapped on February 25, 2017, by four persons from neighbouring Madhepura district when she had gone to market to purchase some books and copies. But, the kidnapping of the minor girl, daughter of Ward Number 26, Saharsa, resident Chhotelal Bhagat, came to light on February 28, 2017, when the latter lodged an FIR with Saharsa Sadar police station (PS) alleging Radhey Shyam Bhagat and Ghan Shyam Bhagat of village Ekparha in Madhepura district had kidnapped his daughter with the help of their two friends.
SHO, Sadar PS, Saharsa, Bhai Bharat, said police had swung into action to rescue the girl and arrest the kidnappers. Chhotelal Bhagat informed police that when his daughter did not return home from market till late evening on February 25, he and other family members started searching for her there but were informed by some people that four persons including Ghanshyam and Radhey Shyam of village Ekparha in Madhepura district had forcibly put her on a bike and kidnapped her.
Chhotelal and his family members reached Ekparha and requested the accused to release his daughters but were told to wait till February 26. But, when they did not release her even on February 27, Chhotelal again asked them to free his daughter but the accused refused to release her and instead threatened them with dire consequence if they approach police and asked them to leave the place.
Chhotelal returned to Saharsa on February 27 night and lodged an FIR with police on February 28. Chhotelal has told police that the accused were either planning to sell his daughter or get her married to someone. The girl was preparing for matriculation at Bhagalpur and had returned to Saharsa recently. The examination is commencing from March 1.
