Rs 40 lakh cash, AK 47, SLR seized during anti-naxal operation in Jharkhand

Ranchi ( Jharkhand) : Jharkhand police, in a major development on March 24, 2017, night,  seized Rs 40 lakh cash, an AK 47, one SLR and a 315 Regular Rifle from a village under Balumath police station in Latehar district during an anti-naxal operation.

ADG ( Operations) and Jharkhand police spokesperson R K Mullick, said that the operation was carried out by Latehar police and CRPF on March 24 night and firearms and Rs 40 lakh were seized from the house of one Naresh Mukhia at village Bishanpur under Balumath Police station in Latehar district. ADG Mullick said that the entire cash was in the denomination of Rs 2,000 currency. He said that police also seized 98 live rounds besides arresting a Tritiye Prastuti Committee (TPC) cadre.
