Buxar: Some miscreants on Tuesday demanded Rs 25 lakh as ‘rangdari’ from Dr Mahendra Prasad and threatened him with dire consequences if he failed to pay the amount oblige them.
The SHO, Model Police Station, Buxar, said that Dr Mahendra Prasad, an orthopaedic surgeon, runs ‘Neha Nursing Home’ at Buxar and he received a letter on Tuesday when he was at his nursing home. When he opened the letter, he trembled with fear as Rs 25 lakh was demanded from him as ‘rangdari’ with a threat to kill him if he does not pay the amount. The SHO said that the police were looking into the matter. In the meantime, the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Buxar unit, called an urgent meeting to discuss the matter and decide its course of action
