Ara : A case of taking Rs 22 lakh from a student in a fraudent manner to get him admission in Prasad Medical College in Lucknow, UP, came to light on January 17, 2018, after the father of the student lodged complaint with Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar in this regard

Parikshit Pandey, son of Manoj Pandey of village Koni under Dinara police station in Rohtas district, lived in Mahavir Tola locality under Town police station, Ara, in Bhojpur district. Manoj Pandey said that his son Parikshit had cleared NIIT examination in 2016. One day Keshav Tiwari, a resident of village Virauva in Rohtas district and one of his relatives, and Anil Tripathi of Varanasi came to him and assured to get him admitted to Prasad Medical College in Lucknow in UP if he gives a donation of Rs 22 lakh, alleged Manoj Pandey. He said that Rs 11 lakh was deposited in the account of the college through RTGS and the rest amount was given to Keshav Tiwari by cheque, alleged Manoj.

Keshav Tiwari and Anil Tripathi, after getting the said amount in name of admission in the Prasad Medical College, sent Prikshit Pandey to the college but after 10 days Parikshit came to know that the college was not recognized by the Medical Council of India and the college had no permission to admit students, Manoj alleged. When he inquired about it, Keshav Tiwari and Anil Tirpathi threatened him with dire consequences.

Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar has directed SHO, Nawada police station to inquire into the matter and arrest the accused.
