Bokaro: Three motorcycle borne criminals on Monday snatched a bag containing Rs 2.8 lakh from a couple around 2pm near Karpoori chowk at sector 12 of Bokaro Steel City in Jharkhand and escaped without being challenged by anyone including patrolling cops who were standing about 200 metre away near the sector crossing. Sunaina Devi, a lawyer as well as JMM leader, along with her businessman husband Anil Kumar Vishwakarma (resident of sector 12-E—quarter number 1158) had drawn the cash from Bank of India branch located at sector 4 of Bokaro steel city and were going to deposit it in the State bank of India at sector 12 of Bokaro steel city near their house. The couple got down from their car, which was parked just 20 metres away from the bank, with the bag containing cash in hand of the lawyer, when suddenly two motorcycle borne criminals came near her and snatched the bag from her in a flash and sped away before the lady and her husband raised an alarm. |
The criminals were following the couple soon after they had drawn the cash from Bank of India branch and kept following them till next 4 km (distance between sector 4 bank and sector 12 bank) maintaining a safe distance from the car and as soon as the couple got down near SBI branch, the criminals looted the bag, sources said. Both the criminals were wearing helmets to hide their faces, sources added. Later, the couple reached sector 12 police station and lodged complaint regarding the incident.
Bokaro DSP Ajay Kumar told reporters that police has started investigating into the incident and is even looking at CCTV installed near Bank of India at sector 4 and state bank of India at sector 12.“ Loot message with description of criminals and colour of two- wheeler has been flashed and cops are nab the criminals,” he said.
