Patna : Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 19 runs in the 11th match of IPL 2018 at M Chinnaswamy Standium, Bengaluru, on April 15, 2018. With this, RCB has suffered two defeats in three matches. They had earlier lost to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their first match. RCB had won the toss but opted to bowl.

Set a target of 218 by the RR to win the match, the RCB could score 198/6 in 20 overs with captain Virat Kohli scoring 57 in 30 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes and Mandeep Singh an unbeaten 47 in 25 balls with 6 fours and a six. Spinner Washington Sundar also scored 35 in 19 balls with 3 sixes and a four. A B de Villers scored 20 in 18 balls with a six and a four. Opener Quinton de Kock made 26 in 19 balls hitting 4 fours. But, his opening partner Brendan McCullum failed again getting out for only four.

For RR, leg spinner Shreyas Gopal, 24, Karnataka, took 2/22 in 4 overs while Ben Stokes, England, right arm fast medium bowler Ben Laughlin, 35, Australia, Krishnappa Gowtham, 29, Karnataka, and D Arcy Short, Australia, took one wicket each.

Earlier, RR made 217 in 20 overs riding on an unbeaten 92 in 45 balls with 10 sixes and 2 fours by Sanju Samson and 36 in 26 balls with 6 fours and a six by captain and opener Ajinkya Rahane. Allrounder Ben Stokes, England,  made 27 with 2 fours and a six while wicketkeeper Jos Buttler, England, made 23 in 14 balls hitting 2 fours and a six. Rahul Tripathi 14 in 5 balls hitting a six and a four.
