Patna : Former Bihar Deputy  CM Tejaswi Yadav, who is leader of RJD legislature party (RJDLP), on July 27, 2017, alleged that his party and alliance partner Congress were denied an opportunity to stake claim to form the government after Nitish Kumar resigned on July 26 as the head of Grand Alliance government.

Tejaswi said initially they had no clear idea about Nitish’s next move but they had doubts hence they sought an appointment with the governor K N Tripathi on July 26 night. But, since the governor was at hospital, they were given an appointment at 11 am on July 27. Meanwhile, Nitish met governor on July 26 night and was sworn in as the chief minister at 10 am on July 27. He said that the RJD, Congress and MLAs supporting the alliance would defeat Nitish in the trust vote. He claimed that several senior JD(U) leaders were unhappy with Nitish’s decision to break Grand Alliance government.

Tejsawi said that the entire state was with the RJD and Congress as they repesent social justice. He rubbished corruption charges against him and alleged that chargesheted persons were ministers in the NDA government. Tejaswi also claimed that Nitish was an accused in a 1991 murder case. Meanwhile, RJD workers on July 27 blocked Gandhi Setu to protest fall of Grand Alliance government.

AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi on July 27 lashed out at Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for joining hands with the BJP alleging that he had returned to the communal forces for his selfish political motives. Rahul, whose party was part of the Grand Alliance in Bihar, claimed that he was aware that it was being planned for the last three-four months. Rahul said Nitish had joined hands with us in the anti- communal fight, but for his personal politics, he has now  joined hands with those against whom he had fought. This is the problem in India’s politics, he said.  There is no principle, no credibility, Rahul asserted.
