Payna : River Ganga was flowing above danger mark at 3 places in Patna district on September 9, 2018, morning. At Digha Ghat, the river was flowing 12 cm above danger at 6 am while at Gandhi Ghat (Patna), it was flowing 79 cm above the red mark. At Hathidah in Patna district, the river was flowing 70 cm above the danger mark at 6 am.
At Kahalgaon in Bhagalpur district, Ganga was flowing 33 cm above the red mark at 6 am. The water level of the river is likely to increase by 12 cm by 10 pm on September 9. Ganga was also flowing 84 cm above the danger mark at Farraka in West Bengal at 6 am. The water level of the river is likely to rise by 12 cm by 8 pm on September 9.
River Kosi, on the other hand, was flowing 55 cm above the danger mark at Baltara in Khagaria district at 6 am. It was also flowing 50 cm above the red mark at Kursela in Katihar district and its water level is likely to increase by 21 cm by 6 am on September 10.
River Sone was showing rising trend at 2 pm on September 9 with the maximum discharge into the river being 3,70,909 cusec.
River Punpun was flowing 12 cm above the danger mark at Shripalpur in Patna district at 6 am on September 9 while river Ghaghra was flowing 7 cm above danger mark at Darauli in Siwan district. It was also flowing 19 cm above the danger mark at Gangpursiswan in Siwan district.
Budhee Gandak was flowing 94 cm above red mark at Khagaria and its water level is likely to increase by 7 cm by 6 am on September 10.
The Water Resources Department, Bihar (WRD) has claimed that all the flood protection embankments are safe.
