Bagaha : Sabloo Kumar, son of Sadhu Sharan Sao, proprietor of Premchand Rice Mill, Gandhinagar, under Bagaha Town police station in West Champaran district, was arrested by police on March 17, 2018, for allegedly misappropriating rice worth over Rs 80 lakh.
Sources said that the Rice Mill proprietor had allegedly procured paddy from the State Food Corporation (SFC), Bagaha unit, for milling few years back but he did not return required quantity of  rice after milling in lieu of paddy. Manager, SFC, Bettiah, had filed a certificate case before the District Certificate Officer, Bettiah, in 2013 for recovery of Rs 80,45,443.76, but Sabloo Kumar neither deposited the required quantity of rice nor cash.
The  Certificate Officer had issued warrant of arrest against Sabloo on August 16, 2017. But, Sabloo neither deposited the required amount nor appeared before the District Certificate Officer. SHO, Bagaha Town police station, Mohammad Ayub,on March 17, 2018, arrested Sabloo and sent him to Bagaha jail the same day.
