Dhanbad ( Jharkhand) :  A five- member anti–corruption bureau (ACB) team from Dhanbad led by its inspector on June 17, 2017, noon arrested a district Revenue Department employee Amarjeet Sahu while accepting Rs 2,500 as bribe from Shanichhar Pandit at Aura in the district.

The trap to arrest Sahu was laid by ACB sleuths after a farmer Shanichhar Pandit lodged a complaint with ACB office, Dhanbad, three weeks ago that Sahu was demanding Rs 3,000 for  putting mutation of one decimal land in government records in his favour and unless the bribe was paid the work will not be executed. Despite repeated pleas made by Pandit during the last six months, Sahu did not execute the work and insisted on payment of cash as advance. Finally, Pandit moved the ACB.

The ACB sleuths handed over  Rs 2,500 cash to Pandit on June 17 morning for giving the same to Sahu. As soon as  Sahu accepted the cash and kept it in his pocket, the ACB sleuths who were hiding at some distance away rushed to the spot and nabbed him and seized the cash from his  possession. Later, Sahu was  brought over to Dhanbad ACB office where his interrogation is going on.
