Ara : Under mounting police pressure, retired police Sub-Inspector (SI) Suresh Rai alias Dinesh Rai surrendered before an Ara Court on November 24, 2021, in connection with murder of a farmer Devikant Rai at village Kusumhi under Tarari police station (PS) in Bhojpur District in South Bihar. Later, he was sent to jail under judicial custody.
Bhojpur SP Vinay Tiwari said that some armed miscreants had shot dead a farmer Devkant Rai at village Kusumhi under Tarari police station on November 18, 2021, afternoon, and a named FIR was lodged with police against six persons including retired SI Suresh Rai alias Dinesh Rai, his wife Krishna Devi, son Pankaj Kumar, daughters: Nirasha Devi, Beauty, and Buchano Kumar,i on the statement of the deceased’s wife Poonam Devi. Police had arrested Krishna Devi and his daughters Buchano Kumari and Nirasha Devi the same day and sent them to jail. Police had also recovered one .315 caliber rifle and 12 live cartridges.
