Bettiah : People of five panchayats under Sathi police station in West Champaran district blocked Narkatiaganj -Bettiah state highway near Sathi petrol pump for five hours on September 17, 2018, demanding basic amenities.
Sources said that these panchayats are still lack pucca roads, school buildings and health services. The road blockade was complete and no any vehicle could pass on the road except for ambulance. The protesters including Naushad Ahamad, Ayjaz Ahmad, and Lal Bahadur Prasad said that several representations had been made from block to state level officials and even MLA and MP concerned in this connection but to no avail hence they have decided to opt for NOTA in the next LS polls.
Narkatiaganj SDM Chandan Kumar Chauhan, SDPO Nishad Ahmad, SHO Sathi police station Awadhesh Kumar Jha, and BDO, Lauria, reached to spot on September 17 late evening assured the protesters that their demands would be fulfilled after which the blockade was lifted and traffic resumed.
