Rescue and Relief Operation by Indian Navy in Odisha

New Delhi : As the Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm ‘Fani’ crossed coast south of Puri in Odisha this morning, ENC intensified rescue operations in areas between Chilka and Puri on May 3, 2019.

Additional relief material and medical teams have been augmented to Odisha from Visakhapatnam. INS Ranvijay and Airavat with integral helicopters have also sailed from Visakhapatnam with relief materials including medical stores and Medical Teams have also proceeded to Odisha to join the rescue operation with IN Ships Sahyadri, Ranvir and Kadmatt.

Dornier Maritime Reconnaissance aircraft was launched to undertake an aerial survey to assess the impact of the cyclone and the extent of the devastation this afternoon, according to a PIB release.
