Chas ( Jharkhand) : The 71st Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and pomp at DPS, Chas, in Bokaro District in Jharkhand. Principal, DPS, Chas, Neelkamal Sinha, welcomed Suresh Kumar Agarwal, Chairman, Durga Devi Memorial Society, the Chief Guest on the occasion. Saluting the Nation on this auspicious ‘National Festival’, the students, teachers and staff of the school, in tune with the school band sang the National Anthem.

The spirit of Republic was glorified by the melodious renditions of patriotic song ‘Jai Jan Bharat’, ‘Sare Janha Se Achha’ and ‘Vande Mataram’. The other mesmerising performances of the day were the dance ‘Vande Matram’ by the tiny toddlers and ‘Ma Tujhe Salam’ by the students of class-VI to IX.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal  Neelkamal Sinha conveyed her greetings on this auspicious occasion. She said that not only should we be aware of our rights but also our responsibilities. She reiterated the motto of DPS Chas ‘Service Before Self’. She urged everybody to have respect for all.

Srijan Sinha, Head Boy, delivered a heart rendering speech urging the students to be honest and truthful to the responsibilities which they are to shoulder in future to make a better India. Pragya Pushkar of class X administered the vote of thanks. Students, teachers and other staff member were all present on this occasion.
