Registrar, VKSU, threatened with dire consequence

Ara : Registrar, Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara, Shyamanand Jha was threatened with dire consequences after lodging of an FIR against two persons including Niranjan Thakur, an employee of the university, on November 2, 2018. The Registrar on November 4 lodged a named FIR against Chandan Pandey with Nawada police station, Ara, for threatening him with dire consequences. The Registrar, in a communication to Bhojpur DM Sanjeev Kumar and the SP Aditya Kumar, has requested them to provide security as he and his family members are living under constant fear.

Registrar Shyamanand Jha said that even after complete ban of sale and purchase of liquor in Bihar, he noticed several empty bottles of liquor scattered hither and thither on the campus of the VKSU and so directed the guard not to allow any anti-social elements to loiter on the campus of the university. When Guard Rajeshwar Tiwari, a retired armyman and a resident of Ram Nagar locality under Nawada police station, stopped some anti-social persons from entering the VKSU campus, they thrashed him.

Jha immediately called in police and lodged a named FIR against two persons including Niranjan Thakur, an employee of the university, after identifying them from the CCTV footage. As the matter came to the knowledge of anti-social elements, one of them called Jha on his mobile around 2am on November 4, 2018, identifying himself as Nishchal Anand alias Chandan Pandey, a relative of Niranjan Thakur, and threatened him with dire consequences if he did not withdraw the case.

Chandan Pandey, on the other hand, refuted the charge and said that the university administration was implicating him false case.

Registrar Jha questioned efficiency of the police force deployed on the campus by Bhojpur district administration and requested Bhojpur DM Sanjeev Kumar to open a permanent police post on the VKSU campus.
