New Delhi : A record 74,894 COVID-19 patients were declared cured/discharged during last 24 hours in India although 89,706 new cases were also report in the country during the same period. India has reported 43,70,128 COVID-19 cases till date of which 33,98,844 patients have been declared cured/discharged.
The COVID-19 death toll had jumped to 73,890 on September 9, 2020, with 1,115 new deaths being reported from different parts of the country including 380 from Maharashtra, 146 from Karnataka, 73 from Andhra Pradesh, 71 from UP, 57 from West Bengal, and 67 from Punjab. The Case Fatality Rate had dropped to 1.69 % in the country on September 9, 2020, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The number of active cases in the country was 8,97,394 at 8 am on September 9, 2020, which is 20.53% of the total cases reported so far in the country.
The COVID-19 toll break-up in India on September 9, 2020, is : Maharashtra (27,407), Tamilnadu (8,012), Karnataka (6,680), Delhi (4,618), Andhra Pradesh (4,560), Uttar Pradesh (4,047), West Bengal (3,677), Gujarat (3,133), Madhya Pradesh (1,609), Rajasthan (1,164), Punjab (1,990), Telengana (916), J&K (815), Haryana (854), Bihar (765), Odisha (569), Jharkhand (496), Assam (378), Uttarakhand (360), Kerala (372), Chhattisgarh (407), Puducherry (337), Goa (256), Tripura (161), Chandigarh (78), Andaman & Nicobar (50), Himachal Pradesh (60), Ladakh (35), Manipur (39), Nagaland (10), Meghalaya (17), Arunachal Pradesh (9), Sikkim (7), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2 ).
