Patna : JD(U) National General Secretary (organisation) Ramchandra Prasad Singh, a Rajya Sabha Member, was on December 27, 2020, chosen as the new National President of the party at its executive committee meeting held here on the day.
R C P Singh’s name for the party’s top post was proposed by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, who was also holding the post of party president so far. R C P Singh, 62, a former UP cadre IAS officer, is a close associate of Nitish Kumar. He was earlier Principal Secretary to CM Nitish Kumar. His daughter is a Bihar cadre IPS officer.
